Five more years. This is the theme of Karl-Anthony Towns' new hype video that he posted on Twitter following news of his reported extension deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to reports, the Timberwolves' franchise cornerstone has agreed to a supermax deal worth $190 million, which will keep him in Minnesota for at least the next five years. Here is a treat from Towns himself that will make this day even better for the Wolves faithful.

This does not appear to be a run-of-the-mill type of video that was hastily put together overnight. A lot of time and effort was put in to come up with such an awesome and effective hype promo, which means that the deal might have been brewing over at least the past couple of days.
This is a masterful move for Towns and the Timberwolves organization as it takes away the attention from want-away stud Jimmy Butler and his trade-me-now demands. The 2016 Rookie of the Year winner is obviously a more significant player for Minnesota, and there is no better way to overshadow the Butler conundrum than signing the team's best player to a long-term extension.
Whispers about the disarray in the Timberwolves camp were already getting louder over the past 48 hours, which also included question marks surrounding Towns' commitment level to the organization. This recent development absolutely quells any and all concerns about Towns, allowing the front office to focus their attention on other pressing matters.
