After the Minnesota Timberwolves edged out a 119-118 victory over the Grizzlies in Game 4, Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins lambasted the officiating crew for what he described as being an “arrogant” showing from the referees. Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley caught wind of the comments made by Jenkins and weighed in on the antics of the young head coach, via Dane Moore.

Beverley described Jenkins' reaction as being “very interesting” before saying “coming from a young coach, that's just something that you don't do.”

While Jenkins was going to bat for his team and was fully aware that he was going to be fined for his comments, Beverley isn't a huge fan of what was said by the Grizzlies' coach. Beverley feels that despite some disparities in foul calls within the first few games, the Timberwolves didn't issue any complaints about the officiating. As Beverley said, Minnesota “took it on the chin” after their loss in Game 1, during which the Grizzlies shot 43 free throws compared to the Timberwolves' 27.

Beverley even cited specific foul calls that went against him rather than Ja Morant, noting that he didn't throw a fit over not getting the calls. “Me being in this league for a decade, that's something you just don't do, especially during playoff time,” Beverley said.

Jenkins was fined $15,000 for his comments about the officials, something he was well aware was coming. While he's been disciplined accordingly, it's clear his comments didn't sit well with some members of the Timberwolves. Regardless, officials will certainly be under heavy scrutiny during Game 5 when the series returns to Memphis.
