The Minnesota Timberwolves are 3-0 since trading small forward Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers and starting point guard Jeff Teague says the team is playing a “fun brand of basketball.”

The Butler trade saga was a dark cloud hanging over the franchise. Everyone in the organization knew the four-time All-Star wanted out. The players always said it wasn't a distraction, but their play on the court said otherwise.

The Timberwolves acquired Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick in exchange for Butler. Covington and Saric have already made a huge impact in the two games they have played in.

Jeff Teague says both guys are great on and off the floor and that the locker room dynamic is really good right now.

The Timberwolves have wins over the Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers since the Butler trade. The return of Jeff Teague to the lineup is another reason why the team is playing better. The 10-year veteran missed six games in a row due to a knee contusion. Minnesota went just 1-5 during that stretch.

Since returning against the Nets, Teague has scored 24 points, 14 points and 13 points. He's also racked up 32 assists as well. His return to the lineup is big because now the Timberwolves' bench is more potent. Derrick Rose is back in the sixth man role and the former MVP is scoring at will when he comes into the game.
