The NBA All-Star Weekend is a bittersweet moment for Minnesota Timberwolves fans. On one hand, they get to see three players they drafted play in the All-Star Game, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Zach LaVine, and Andrew Wiggins making it this. However… only KAT is currently playing in Minny, with LaVine and Wiggins balling out in Chicago and Golden State, respectively.
Prior to the All-Star Game, Zach LaVine recalled a moment with the late Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders. The ex-Minnesota star said that he wanted to take a picture with his former teammates to pay tribute to a coach that believed in them. (via SB Nation)

“I mean, Flip Saunders would have said, you guys are crazy for not thinking it would happen because that was his plan all along. So I think for us to go out there and obviously take a picture and just continue to live on through his legacy because he had that plan from the jump street.”
Saunders would coach LaVine, Towns, and Wiggins during his final stint with the Timberwolves in 2014. The legendary coach would pass away in 2015 due to Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but it's clear that his impact stuck with the former Timberpups. Now, all three of them are recognized as some of the best players today.
LaVine is currently balling out in Chicago, where he helped lead the Bulls to the first seed in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are making a shocking resurgence thanks to Towns and his crew of young stars. Saunders saw something great in these three, and it's nice to see them pay tribute to the coach that helped them out earlier.
