It appears Brandon Jennings has taken one step closer to trying to make an NBA comeback as he has signed a G League contract.

According to Adam Johnson of 2Ways10Days,

NBA veteran Brandon Jennings has signed a G League contract, league sources tell 2Ways10Days.

He will join the Wisconsin Herd.

The G League doesn't have the same rules as the NBA when someone signs a contract. Instead of signing a contract with a team, they sign it with the league, and thus the players must go through the waiver process.

The Wisconson Herd, a G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks will have the first shot at him as they are the number one team in the waiver order.

Jennings is trying a comeback after having a really successful stint with the Shanxi Brave Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association. The 28-year-old guard averaged 27.8 points per game for the team but is now back in the United States as his contract expired in December.

Jennings was having a very successful NBA career before tearing his Achilles in 2015. Since that point, he has bounced around going overseas and having stops with the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks and Washington Wizards.

His last appearance in the NBA was with the Wizards in the 2016-17 season. He appeared in 23 games with the team and drew two starts.

He averaged 16.3 minutes and 3.5 points per game. He is a crafty guard who can really score, but the big question is if he is as mobile as before his Achilles injury.

If he is he could get another crack at the NBA this season.
