There will be a new addition to the NBA All-Star game his year.
With the rise of the NBA's development system, the league announced it will gave All-Stars from the G League play against the Mexican National Team during the fun-filled weekend, per Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald.

The news is big not only for the NBA, but mainly for the players in the G League. These are players that are working very hard, fighting for any kind of opportunity they can get to play in the best basketball league in the world.

So for them to get an opportunity to showcase their talents to the world during a weekend where tens of millions of eyes are on NBA basketball can make all the difference for those players in their careers.
And the opportunity for the Mexican team is the same as well. The NBA has been trying to grow the game to Mexico in recent years, and this is just another example of its efforts to do so.
All-Star weekend will be held in Los Angeles this year at the Staples Center.
