The success of the Marvel movie The Black Panther has been a result of millions of fans watching it since it was shown in theaters. Those who did include the NBA on TNT crew who are all still very much hyped about the film.
Proof of this is their social media team sharing a photo of the Black Panther-themed jerseys they are proposing. They captioned it with a question about a “Wakanda” team possibly becoming the league’s next franchise, leaving the answer to the fans and for them to give their thoughts about it.

“Wakanda” is the country where King T'Challa, the alter ego of Black Panther, hails from. It is supposedly isolated from the rest of the world and one of the poorest countries on the planet. However, what they do not know is there's a boundary that's needed to be crossed before the real “Wakanda” can be seen, which appears to be very futuristic, technologically-advanced, and filled with the world's strongest metal — “Vibranium.”
While the proposal will never come into fruition as the country is only fictional, it also goes to show that the NBA on TNT team is also just like any regular fans of Marvel movies and are inspired by them even at work. It also helps that the lead actor in the film, Chadwick Boseman, and his villain and arch nemesis in it, Michael B. Jordan, are both big fans of the NBA, and were even spotted watching at courtside during the All-Star festivities last weekend.
