The 2017-18 NBA season has already come with its fair share of surprises over a quarter of the way in. This coming after one of the most exciting offseasons in a long time.

As a result, there has been a bevy of players who have made the most of their increased roles this season. The following is a list of those who have made the biggest jump in every major category per Jon Schuhmann of NBA.com:

Needless to say, there are a few surprising names to show up on the lists. Among them are players like Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who is dishing out 6.6 assists per game after averaging just 2.6 assists in his first three seasons combined.

Then there is the newly-acquired Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis who suddenly has put some emphasis on cleaning the glass with 8.4 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Chicago Bulls point guard Kris Dunn is enjoying a resurgence in the Windy City by averaging 12.3 points and 5.2 assists per game.

However, for those that may have missed it, there is one notable name that popped up on several of these lists. That player is Boston Celtics second-year shooting guard Jaylen Brown. After largely coming off the bench in his rookie year, the former third overall pick has played an integral role is Boston's early-season success. That said, he has made the most of his increase in minutes with consistently strong overall performances.
