Following Jimmy Butler‘s 52-point gem against the Charlotte Hornets, the NBA has already seen eight different players reach the 50-point mark at some point this season — an NBA record.

Here are the players who reached the 50-point plateau this 2016-17 season:

Klay Thompson (GSW) 12/05/16 vs. Pacers — 60 points, eight three-pointers, 10-11 free-throws:

Still the only one of this group to have reached the mark in under 30 minutes. Rated one of the most efficient scoring outings per minute in NBA history, even more so when considering the 11 dribbles he took to the 60-point mark.

DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) 12/20/2016 vs. Trail Blazers — 55 points, 14 rebounds, 16-17 free-throws:

Amid the chaos revolving around his verbal spat with a Sacramento Bee reporter, Boogie balled out against the Blazers with a monster performance on the glass and complete dominance of the paint, with five three-pointers for good measure.

James Harden (HOU) 12/31/2016 vs. Knicks — 53 points, 17 assists, 16 rebounds:

Perhaps the most impressive of them all for its all-around impact on the game, accounting for 85 points of total offense and tying Wilt Chamberlain for the most points scored in a triple-double effort.

Jimmy Butler (CHI) 01/02/2017 vs. Hornets — 52 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, 21-22 free-throws:

A terrific performance that somehow managed to get the limelight away from head coach Fred Hoiberg after the benching of Rajon Rondo. Butler was magnificent in the effort, getting himself to the line and countering Kemba Walker's 37 points.

Isaiah Thomas (BOS) 12/30/2016 vs. Heat — 52 points, 9-13 three-pointers, 13-13 free-throws:

The Celtics' pint-sized man brought out a giant performance in a 117-114 win over Miami, torching the defense from beyond the arc and doing so in only 37 minutes of game action.

John Wall (WAS) 12/06/2016 vs. Magic — 52 points, eight assists, four rebounds, three steals:

The Wizards' point guard was sharp and lit up the Orlando defense in a losing effort. Wall connected in five of his eight three-point attempt along with 11-of-14 free-throws in the loss.

Russell Westbrook (OKC) 10/28/2016 vs. Suns — 51 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists:

Westbrook announced himself as a legitimate MVP candidate coming out of the gate with a 51-point triple-double. The Thunder point guard started the season like a man possessed and hasn't stopped since.

Anthony Davis (NOP) 10/26/2016 vs. Nuggets — 50 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, five steals, four blocks:

The Brow took the league by storm by stuffing the stat sheet during the Pelicans' season-opener against Denver. Davis was a one-man army, but came out on the losing end despite shooting a sharp 16-of-17 from the charity stripe.
