Outgoing United States President Donald Trump's Twitter account has been permanently suspended on Friday for fear that it would incite more violence following the riot at US Capitol. The NBA world, of course, had a field day.
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter said in an official statement.“In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action.”
Considering Donald Trump is not a popular figure among NBA circles, tweets from some notable media personalities rejoicing the ban soon flooded online.
To cap off this week: Twitter has permanently suspended President Donald Trump.

The hashtag #TrumpBanned soon took over the top spot of the trending topics. Donald Trump's Twitter suspension comes after his last two tweets violated the platform's policy against the glorification of violence.
“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!” Trump previously wrote.
His final tweet claimed that he will not be attending Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20th.
The NBA, meanwhile, is certainly in high spirits with Donald Trump's exit in the White House. The 2020 NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers have made it clear that they are planning to make a trip to the White House with President-elect Joe Biden in office.
