It's no secret that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is a phenomenal athlete who could probably succeed in other sports. In fact, he was an absolute beast in high school when it came to football.

During the NBA lockout in 2011, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll even came calling and asked LeBron if he wanted to play in the NFL. He ultimately decided against it, but it appears there are other players in the league who believe LeBron James would succeed, like Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce. Via TMZ Sports:

“I think LeBron is one of the greatest athletes in the world. his athleticism, how knowledgeable he is about the game of basketball, he gets right down to the scheme of things. And that's a lot about being a football player, understanding schemes, letting your athleticism show.

“I think LeBron James would've been a problem in the NFL, no doubt. Especially in the tight end room. That's us Northeast Ohio guys, man. We're all around athletes. You can throw us in any sport, we'll have success.”

LeBron certainly has the size to be a tight end. At 6 foot 8, he would be an imposing figure and a huge target for a QB. After all, James did play wide receiver in high school, racking up an impressive 57 receptions, 1,160 yards, and 16 touchdowns in his junior year. Obviously, LeBron James was focused on basketball, but there was certainly a lot of potential there.

We'll probably never know what he was really capable of in football, but there's no questioning that he had what it took to be competitive. Travis Kelce certainly believes so, too.
