2020 NBA Draft prospect LaMelo Ball exudes confidence on the court. The Chino Hills native is viewed as one of the best players in this class, and he has a message for any would-be defenders in the future.

While playing for the Illawarra Hawks in Australia, Ball shared a quick conversation on the sideline with his head coach, Matt Flinn. During their discussion, Flinn implored Ball to keep his foot on the proverbial gas pedal. He wanted Ball to punish his defender.

“You see that guy?” Flinn asked, pointing to an opposing guard.

“Yep yep,” LaMelo Ball said, employing one of his verbal tics.

“When that guy's on you, take him every time,” Flinn said. “He has no chance of staying in front of you.”

Ball assured his coach, then noted that no one in the world can guard him:

“I got you, Coach,” the NBA Draft prospect said, before patting Flinn on the back and adding, “Him and everyone else in the world.”

By most accounts, Ball is a top-5 pick in this year's NBA Draft class. At 6-7, he's a long point guard. Don't be fooled, though. He has excellent ball-handling skills, a knack for finding the open man, and the most star power of any prospect in this class. You may not like his last name much, but there is no denying his talent on a basketball court.

In 12 games with Illarawa, LaMelo Ball racked up averages of 17.0 points on 37.5 percent shooting, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 31.3 minutes per outing. However, he shot just 25.0 percent from beyond the arc.

The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery is set for Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. This year's event will be held virtually due to ongoing concerns with the coronavirus pandemic.
