Former NBA guard and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose says Carmelo Anthony isn't an 11th man on an NBA team because teams don't want reporters “interviewing an 11th guy about his role.”
Rose says the end of the bench players on an NBA team are usually reserved for guys who don't talk to the media that much and stay under the radar.
That wouldn't be the case with Carmelo Anthony, who is one of the more high profile players in basketball:
Article Continues BelowCarmelo Anthony played in just 10 games with the Houston Rockets last season before the franchise exiled him and traded him to the Chicago Bulls. The future Hall of Famer averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds with the Rockets while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Anthony told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith he's prepared to play any role for a team. Jalen Rose believes it's a little too late for Melo and that the 10-time All-Star should have said those comments after he was exiled by the Rockets last season.
Carmelo Anthony's future in the NBA is still very uncertain, as we are in August and Melo is still on the open market.
