Wednesday in South Beach the Golden State Warriors played the Miami Heat and won a game many believed was not winnable. There was no Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and other veterans. The star of the night was 22-year-old Jordan Poole.
His performance left viewers amazed and some were in shock, but Green wasn't one of those spectators.
After the game, Green took to Twitter to rave about Poole and show rookie Jonathan Kuminga some quick love too:
Y’all watched JP score 30 tonight. I watched him Grow. In a different way than most will ever understand. Gotta love it. JK a SUPER!

The third-year guard had a superstar night. Poole scored a game-high 30 points and dished out nine assists in the win. The 19-year-old rookie Kuminga fouled out of the game, but not before recording a nice stat line. He registered 22 points and five rebounds.

These two athletes have done nothing but improve all season, and it's not by accident. They both are open to learning and work extremely hard regularly. Steve Kerr has called Poole the most diligent working player on the team on multiple occasions. He's always in the gym getting up extra shots, and this is likely the reason Green isn't surprised about the Milwaukee native's success.

As the season nears the end, Poole will be depended on more than ever. This is the beginning stage of stardom for him. He's in a groove and is equipped with everything a star needs to be successful.
The former Michigan Wolverine has scored 20 points or more in 11 straight games. Poole is the fourth Warriors player with 11 straight games of 20+ points in the past decade. The Warriors' next opponent is the Atlanta Hawks. That will be Poole’s opportunity to extend his streak to 12 games.
