Get ready for the start of NBA trade season.

Today, Dec. 15, marks the first day that players who signed contracts in the offseason become eligible to be traded, per Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. In total, 94 players fit that description.

There are some notable names on that list of 94. They include Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Zach Randolph, Pau Gasol and others.

Of course, that doesn't mean that any of those players will actually get traded. It just mean's according the rules, they can be. Durant, however, is one of a few players of the 94 that can veto a trade.

Adams explains the rule here:

The NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement states that a free agent who signs with an NBA team can’t be traded for three months or until December 15, whichever is later. So, players who signed new contracts after September 15 aren’t eligible to be dealt yet. Additionally, there are several players who met a specific set of criteria when they signed their new deals and can’t be traded until January 15.

Trade season is arguably the most exciting part of following the NBA. It's always interesting to say what rumors are out there, who wants to be traded and who ends up not being traded.

Don't expect any deals to happen in the near future, but teams are probably getting ready to ramp up chatter among themselves to see what the market is like.
