Last January's season-ending, career-threatening achilles injury undeniably cast a shadow on the future of New Orleans Pelicans superstar DeMarcus Cousins. However, as proven by a workout video recently posted on Twitter by Cousins himself, the 27-year-old is working tirelessly to reestablish himself as one of the most compelling big men in the game today.
Labelled as ‘The Resurgence,' Cousins' journey towards returning to the NBA appears to be on full effect, as the former Kentucky standout shows off his intense workout sessions on this 45-second clip.

Cousins even added a caption to his post stating that “help is on the way.” This is presumably a message intended for the Pelicans, who were overpowered by eventual champions Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals last year.
Article Continues BelowAfter surprisingly sweeping the third-seeded Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, many believed that the Pelicans would have put up a better fight against the Warriors had Cousins been in uniform.
This comes as great news for New Orleans fans, as Cousins appears to be confirming beliefs that he will be re-signing with the team once his current deal expires this summer. Despite his injury, Cousins will not have a shortage of suitors once the free agency window opens on July 1.
However, it seems that Cousins believes he has unfinished business with the Pelicans and will want to redeem a very promising, yet ultimately wasted first supposed full season with the franchise. His combination with cornerstone player Anthony Davis has been a sight to behold, as opposing teams have had trouble containing the twin towers.
We're all rooting for Cousins here, and we all wish him a long and prosperous career ahead of him once he overcomes this major hurdle.
