New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday thinks he'll be able to play against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

Holiday has missed the previous two games due to a left knee sprain. The Pelicans are 0-4 on the season:

Holiday is the best player on the Pelicans. However, he struggled in the two games he played in this season. The All-NBA defender is averaging just 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists while shooting 30.8 percent from the field, 11.1 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Last season for the Pelicans, Holiday put up 21.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. He was pretty efficient, too, shooting 47.2 percent from the floor, 32.5 percent from the 3-point line and 76.8 percent from the charity stripe.

The hype around the Pelicans was high in the offseason, but it took a big hit after rookie Zion Williamson underwent knee surgery to address a torn meniscus. Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin did a great job of acquiring Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart from the Los Angeles Lakers in the Anthony Davis trade and signing JJ Redick and trading for Derrick Favors this summer.

However, the Pelicans are one of three teams in the NBA right now without a win.
