The New Orleans Pelicans have recently decided to assign rookie forward Kenrich Williams to the NBA G League, after the 24-year-old has failed to break into head coach Alvin Gentry's rotation.

Williams has only made six appearances for the Pelicans this season averaging just 4.8 minutes of action.
Article Continues BelowWilliams is an alumni of the Texas Christian University, where he played for three years. He decided to forgo his senior year, opting to make himself eligible for last June's Draft, where he would, unfortunately, go undrafted. In three seasons with the Horned Frogs, he averaged 11.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 32.2 minutes per ballgame.
Williams will now re-join the Westchester Knicks of the G League, after already making three appearances with the squad earlier this season. The 6-foot-7 swingman will look to build on his impressive showings for the Knicks, where he has averaged 13.3 points (on 56.3 percent shooting), 14.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.7 blocks, and just 1.0 turnovers in 29.5 minutes of action.
Despite the recent demotion, Williams will just need to keep his head up and keep on playing hard. Hopefully, he will be able to hone his skills in the G League, and eventually receive another call up to the NBA. At the moment, it is impossible to tell if and when this will come, but the only thing Williams can do is to make sure he is ready once the moment finally arrives.
