A lot has happened since the NBA Bubble in Orlando, Florida. For New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson, that includes shedding his weight.
Per Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the 20-year-old Williamson has lost as much as 25 pounds since he last played an NBA game in August (via Bleacher Report).
“I was told that Zion, and I don't think they really wanted to publicize where he was physically when he came back to the bubble, but I have heard that it's in excess of 25 pounds that he's lost from where he was in the bubble to where he is now. He is not as svelte by any stretch of the imagination, but he definitely is moving better.”
Williamson has always been a scary sight for opponents with his unique combination of heft and athleticism. But a shredded version of him sounds more worrisome for the opposing teams.

The former Duke main man only played five games in the NBA Bubble, averaging 18.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 20.7 minutes. Williamson was weighing 284 pounds at that time, which means, per Windhorst's report, that he is currently around 260 pounds.
Although still with a bit of heft, a slimmer Zion Williamson could ultimately mean a more healthy status moving forward. After being just limited to 24 games in his much-awaited rookie campaign, last year's first overall pick is eager to play his first full season, and dropping all those pounds should definitely help.
We got a glimpse of Zion 2.0 earlier this week when the Pelicans played their first NBA preseason game against the Miami Heat. Williamson erupted with a game-high of 26 points and 11 rebounds in 33 minutes, resulting in a 114-92 win.
