New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson is off to a historic start to his NBA career.
As a result, NBA fans are dying to get their hands on anything Williamson related, via Eric Woodyard of ESPN:
NBA Auctions launched a bid for one of his game-worn Pelicans City Edition uniforms on Feb. 27. As of Tuesday afternoon, it remains one of the most popular items on the site — cracking over $15,000 with the close date set for March 19.
More memorabilia products for Williamson have been sold since his NBA debut Jan. 22 than any other player across the Fanatics network (which includes NBAStore.com), according to the company. And for merchandise and memorabilia sales combined, he's been a top-five-selling NBA player, with a 175 percent spike in sales month over month.
Williamson is averaging 24.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists overall on the season for the Pelicans. He's shooting 59.3 percent from the floor, 41.7 percent from the 3-point line and 64.8 percent from the charity stripe.
Zion is already one of the most popular players in the NBA. He figures to be the face of the Pelicans and league for the next decade or so assuming he stays healthy.
Article Continues BelowThe Pelicans are so lucky to have Williamson lead the organization in the post-Anthony Davis era. It's not every day where a franchise loses one Hall of Fame talent and gets another in the draft.
