Despite rumors of his disappointment after the New York Knicks fell short of the No. 1 overall pick in Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery, Zion Williamson's stepfather Lee Anderson dispelled rumors of his stepson potentially returning to Duke in hopes of avoiding landing with the New Orleans Pelicans, who won the top pick:

“We met with David Griffin and had a great conversation and are excited at the prospect of getting settled and finding a place to stay,” said Anderson, according to ESPN's Off The Bench.

Jeff Duncan of The New Orleans Times-Picayune added that the idea of returning to Duke “is not something that we have even considered.”

The potential of a return to Duke was first brought forth by ESPN's Brian Windhorst, who laid out all the possibilities on various ESPN shows.

Windhorst specified that he was merely laying down potential options, but there had been no indication that Williamson would be willing to return for another college season to skip out on The Big Easy.

Williamson did say he was expecting the Knicks to come out with the top overall pick, but regardless of who holds the selection, he's still bound to be the overwhelming choice at No. 1 and a generational talent who can change a franchise for many years to come.
