The New York Knicks have been mired in a six-game losing streak after the Wednesday's 105-104 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on the front end of  home-and-home outings.

The star forward Carmelo Anthony knows just how important surviving these tough stretches can be for a team trying to come together to make a playoff push prior to the All-Star break.

“We're not going to let anything seep into this locker room as far as negativity,” Anthony told reporters, according to Steve Popper of The Record. “I don't even want to think about last year or the year before, those situations. I know right now we're not going to allow ourselves to get down, especially with the guys on this team. We know how to react to situations like this. So it's just a matter of sometimes when things are not going your way they're not going your way. We've got to figure out a way to get out of that.”

“It is what it is,” Anthony said Thursday. “Regardless of what happens when we win, it's us. When we lose, it's me.”

Anthony had perhaps his best outing of the year after pouring in 30 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in a losing effort — but as sports go, the superstar often receives the blame, whether he is the direct culprit or not.

The Knicks have struggled without power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who has been out with a left Achilles injury the past two games. Aside from the 20.1 points per game he brings every night, his two-way player dynamic and his team-high 1.9 blocks per game are sorely missed in a team that ranks 26th in defense.

Anthony has been dealing with some lingering knee soreness the past few games, but if there's anything that can help the Knicks (16-19) stay afloat, sitting only 1.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the last playoff spot.

New York will get another crack at Milwaukee on the road today as the first part of ESPN's Friday night doubleheader.
