The New York Knicks have been one of the hotter teams in the league as of late and are currently ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 14-11 record.

Much of the credit has been given to Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, but one person who deserves as much is their head coach, Jeff Hornacek.

The 53-year-old bench tactician came in to the Knicks this season after his stint with the Phoenix Suns and has been doing a tremendous job in putting his system in place and handling the personalities of his star forward and the team's president, Phil Jackson.

Hornacek was recently asked about how it is being caught in middle of the clash between Anthony and Jackson. He acknowledged the situation and also described how things sometimes get blown out of proportion in New York.

“Yeah, I mean it happens. I think that’s the understanding in New York, that things get blown up probably more than a comment here or a comment there, which is probably meaningless, turns into something big. So you roll with the punches.”

Even with their beef going on, Hornacek has remained focused on his job and has not allowed the distractions off the court affect his team's play. If he continues what he's doing with the Knicks, it won't come as a surprise if they can sustain the success they currently have and make a trip to playoffs for the first time since 2013 despite all the issues surrounding the team internally.
