The New York Knicks are 1-6 on the season entering Wednesday. Some around the league believe head coach David Fizdale is on the hot seat since the team is playing just as bad as it did last season.

However, Fizdale says the front office has been “incredibly supportive” through the beginning part of the season:

“They’ve been incredibly supportive,” Fizdale said after Wednesday’s morning shootaround at Detroit Country Day before the Knicks faced the Pistons, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “We talk every day. The beauty of what’s happening inside our building is everyone is connected. They all see the work that we’re putting in.”

The Knicks' front office is made up of president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry. No one is expecting the team to be good this season, but after the front office spent its salary cap on veterans this offseason, fans in New York were at least hoping the Knickerbockers would be competitive in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks' lone win of the season came against the Chicago Bulls at home. New York erased an 18-point deficit to win that game.

The Detroit Pistons are playing without Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose and Reggie Jackson on Wednesday. This is a game New York should be able to win.
