New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale says second-year small forward Kevin Knox is “still out” with a right calf injury.
The good news is that Fizdale doesn't think Knox's injury is serious.
Kevin Knox (strained right calf) questionable for Knicks Friday.
"Kevin didn’t go today," Fizdale said "He’s still out. I don’t think it’s anything major. I just think the trainers really want to take their time and make sure that thing is healed up before he really tries it out"— Mike Vorkunov (@MikeVorkunov) October 10, 2019
Kevin Knox averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 75 games last season for the Knicks. He shot 37.0 percent from the field and 34.3 percent beyond the arc.

After missing out on stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency this offseason, the Knicks used their cap space on Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock.
The depth chart for the Knicks will be set during training camp and preseason play. Knox missing action is a bummer, but the last thing New York wants to see is one of its youngsters suffer a serious injury before the real games start.
The veterans the Knicks signed will help Knox, Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson and rookie RJ Barrett learn what it takes to win in the NBA on a consistent basis. They will also push the kids in practices and show them some tough love.
