The Derrick Rose era in Chicago officially ended in the summer of 2016 when the Bulls traded him to the New York Knicks.
The Knicks were hopeful that Rose's arrival, along with that of former Bulls teammate Joakim Noah, would turn their dark fortunes around. However, the Knicks stayed their mediocre selves that 2016-17 season. But now, Rose claims he knew they were going to be bad as soon as the season started, even though he called them a superteam soon after his trade to New York:

While the Knicks have some decent talent on their roster, they lost out on the Zion Williamson sweepstakes and saw Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant sign with the Brooklyn Nets. New York has also been mocked for signing so many power forwards this summer.
Maybe we should ask D-Rose about his thoughts on the Knicks this season, though we probably already know the answer.
Rose actually had a decent season with the Knicks in terms of his stats. He averaged 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.
However, despite those numbers, there were plenty of issues during his time in New York. In fact, at one point during the season, Rose suddenly left the team and flew to Chicago without informing anyone on the team.
This has been the story of the Knicks for nearly two decades now. They have dealt with drama and terrible basketball for a long time, and they're desperately trying to change their fortunes.
