The offseason is not yet over and so is the New York Knicks' Enes Kanter and his jab antics. His latest victim: the Milwaukee Bucks.
In an interview with Royce Young of ESPN, Kanter was asked about a wide range of things including his beef with LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, how the Golden State Warriors “ruined” the league, being traded to the Knicks, among others.
Kanter created some stir prior to his decision whether to opt in or not with the Knicks. He tweeted a deer emoji which went viral. After exactly five minutes, Kanter deleted the tweet knowing that it could send the wrong signal to his followers that he was going to sign with the Bucks. Asked about this, Kanter said:
Article Continues Below“You gotta mess with the media a little. Because I know I was not going to go to the Milwaukee Bucks. It's the Milwaukee Bucks. Unless they give you good, good money, then go, but you don't leave New York for Milwaukee.”
The 26-year-old Turkish national did reveal later that he will exercise his player option to stay with the Knicks worth $18.6 million.
Kanter was successful at stirring up the media a bit. And inevitably, it included his fans. Kanter had a great season with the Knicks as part of the starting line up. This season might be a turning point in his career from a mere reserve center-forward, to a fully-fledged starter.
