The New York Knicks rolled over the Orlando Magic on Friday night in a massive 121-96 victory. Emotions were clearly running high when Julius Randle attempted to put Wendell Carter Jr on a poster with a dunk, but the Magic big man instead fouled him hard across the face. Randle didn't take kindly to that and proceeded to shove Carter.
The Knicks star cleared the air on the incident post-game. Via Knicks Videos:
Julius Randle talks about what happened between him and Wendell Carter Jr. in the 4th quarter in Orlando:
"Maybe they're trying to build a culture, it's perfectly fine. It's a hard foul. Hard foul me, imma push you regardless" pic.twitter.com/afr4tvR48v

No hard feelings by any means. It's simply competition and Randle realizes that. He also knows what it's like to play on a young team who is trying to find their identity, as he pointed out. The Knicks showed out to improve to 2-0 on the season, with the reigning Most Improved Player of the Year pouring in 21 points while also grabbing 10 boards and dishing out seven assists.
Hard fouls are going to happen and it's really not a huge deal but when a player gets hit across the face, there's no doubt some anger is going to come out. Randle and the Knicks won't be too worried though considering they got the last laugh. It won't be long until New York faces Carter and the Magic again either as Orlando travels to MSG on Sunday for their second consecutive meeting.
