Veteran forward Michael Beasley is set to begin his first campaign with the New York Knicks after inking a one-year deal with the team over the offseason.

Beasley has already taken steps some major steps toward better preparing himself for next season by changing up his diet that has led to him losing nearly 20 pounds.

This could work wonders for Beasley as the lighter frame could help him gain more quickness and stamina while on the court that may impact him greatly in a positive manner. He had weighed around 235 last season, which this drop should take him down further to the 215-220 lbs. range ahead of training camp.

The increased importance of diet and body weight has likely been due to the opportunities he will have this upcoming season in New York. In his first nine years, Beasley has bounced around the league throughout his first nine years in the NBA including a few stints overseas.

The 28-year-old is coming off a productive 2016-17 season with the Milwaukee Bucks despite playing in limited minutes off the bench averaging 9.4 points on career-highs of 53.2 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from 3-point range along with 3.4 rebounds per contest. There is plenty of potential for Beasley to take full advantage opportunity and revitalize his career with the Knicks next season.
