The New York Knicks have reportedly declined their team option on guard Billy Garrett, who will now more than likely play elsewhere come the 2019-20 campaign.

Of course, with this year's free agency period looming, the Knicks have begun clearing some serious cap space in hopes of luring multiple high-profile free agents to New York.
Article Continues BelowThe 24-year-old Garrett made his NBA debut this past 2018-19 season, averaging 6.5 points and 1.8 assists across 15.8 minutes per game. He went on to appear in just four games as a member of the Knicks last season, however.
As for the Knicks as a whole, the struggling New York franchise finished this past season with the worst record in the entire NBA. Even so, New York now possesses the ability to turn things around in a hurry, thanks in large part to their capability to a sign a slew of top-tier free agents.
The three most notable players linked to the Knicks at the moment are Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving.
It's also worth noting that the team recently selected Duke standout RJ Barrett in the 2019 NBA Draft, partnering him with Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox in what seems to be an interesting young core.
