Kristaps Porzingis finished with yet another new career-high of 40 points with six blocks to lead the New York Knicks to a 108-101 win over the Indiana Pacers this week. However, he wasn’t the only Knick to have a career night. Frank Ntilikina also had the best game of his young career with 10 points, seven assists, and three steals off the bench.
Per ESPN Stats and Info, the Knicks were dominant when both Porzingis and Ntilikina were on the court together.
Article Continues BelowKnicks rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina played the entire 4th quarter on Sunday. In fact, when he and Kristaps Porzingis were on the court together, the Knicks outscored the Pacers, 45-20 in 14 minutes.
Obviously, 14 minutes is an extremely small sample size, but it was nevertheless impressive to see them go plus-25 during that short span of time. That performance was a promising development as the two young Europeans figure to be the Knicks’ main building blocks in the coming years.
Ntilikina’s progress is particularly encouraging. He has been a steals machine thus far, picking up 13 through his first seven games. He’s also averaging six assists through his first three games of November.
The 19-year-old Ntilikina is still likely a couple of years away from becoming the finished article, but the Pacers game was just a taste of what the Knicks could be in the future with him and Porzingis.
