Stephen A. Smith is a huge New York Knicks fan, but he himself admits that Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell will be better off on any other team.

Mitchell has been linked with the Knicks as of late, with New York reportedly “monitoring” his situation in Utah especially after Quin Snyder's departure. The ‘Bockers are even rumored to be stockpiling their assets in order to make a move for the explosive guard.

While Stephen A. dreams to see Mitchell in Knicks uniform, he is not getting his hopes up.

“The reality of the situation is that the New York Knicks are not an organization that's worthy of Donovan Mitchell. I am a native New Yorker, I am a die-hard New York Knicks fan. I root for them, but they make me sick to my stomach because I am emotionally connected to this franchise, who repeatedly frustrates me and ticks me off year after year after year. They don't deserve Donovan Mitchell. I HOPE they get Donovan Mitchell, I would be ecstatic [if they get him]. But I am under no illusions, I know there is a slim to zero chance they get Donovan Mitchell.”

It's hard not to feel Stephen A. Smith's frustrations with the Knicks. They looked to be a team on the rise in 2020-21, but they reverted to their losing ways this 2021-22 and even failed to make the playoffs.

Perhaps adding Mitchell could turn things for them, but that is still a big “if.” And considering the Knicks' history about getting top superstars, they don't have a lot to show over the past few years.
