Video emerges of David Fizdale shaking hands with Knicks’ brass hours before getting fired

Video has emerged of David Fizdale shaking hands with the New York Knicks' brass just hours before he was fired on Friday.

Fizdale coached the Knicks at practice. He was fired hours later.

New York is 4-18 on the season. They have the worst record in the East.

Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry addressed the media for several minutes before Fizdale’s press conference following the team’s home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 10. Mills said he and Perry weren’t happy with how things were going, saying they expected the Knicks to be better.

“Given that this is our 10th game, we felt like we had an obligation to come and speak to you guys,” Mills said. “Obviously, Scott and I are not happy with where we are right now. We think the team's not performing to the level that we anticipated or we expected to perform at and that's something that we think we have to collectively do a better job of delivering the product on the floor that we said we would do at the start of this season.”

It appears Fizdale was the fall guy in New York, even though guys like RJ Barrett and Bobby Portis have showed their support for Fizdale. At this point, it probably doesn’t matter who is coaching the Knicks. Their roster just isn’t good enough to compete, and it doesn’t help that James Dolan is universally recognized as the worst owner in the NBA.
