The Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off their series with a bang with a 116-108 victory over the Utah Jazz in Game 1. Unfortunately, they took a tremendous step back in Game 2 with a dreadful performance down the stretch in Game 2.

Oklahoma City's trio of superstars simply could not get anything to fall in the fourth quarter. According to Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript, forward Carmelo Anthony really had no answer for what triggered such an abysmal performance to close out the game:

“I don't know. I think we missed. I think we all missed. I don't really have the answer to what happened or the excuse of why we didn't make shots. We just didn't make shots in that fourth quarter.”

The Jazz finished the first half with a seven-point lead, however, the Thunder managed to storm back with a 33-point third quarter. Unfortunately, it seems that they had used up all their mojo after following up with a mere 16 points in the fourth quarter.

It goes without saying that the dreadful night from Anthony, point guard Russell Westbrook, and forward Paul George was at the forefront of their Game 2 loss. The Big 3 shot 0-for-14 in the final period of play and 19-for-58 throughout the entire game.

Meanwhile, Anthony is still struggling to find his groove offensively, only it has now been magnified by the playoff atmosphere. He finished with 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting while hitting just to of his nine 3-point attempts. That said, Anthony and the rest of the Thunder will need to make some serious adjustments if they are going to avoid any more disastrous fourth quarters in this series.
