Enes Kanter was one of the guys who voiced out his displeasure over Kevin Durant’s decision to leave Oklahoma City to play for the Golden State Warriors back in 2016. Since then, however, Kanter’s attitude towards the now two-time NBA champ has greatly warmed. If anything, his new nemesis now comes in the form of another superstar in LeBron James.

Kanter was recently a guest on the Undisputed show on Fox Sports 1, and revealed that he was the only one who got a text from Durant when the latter left for the Bay Area. That said, Durant only did so as a form of reply to Kanter, who first texted him “Good luck.”

Kanter also said that it hurt him and his Thunder teammates that Kevin Durant didn’t have the inclination to text them that summer, which also partly explains the degree of animosity between the two players.

Kanter is now with the New York Knicks after the Thunder traded him – along with Doug McDermott – for a draft pick and Carmelo Anthony last year, but his fondness for Oklahoma City stays the same.

The 26-year-0ld center picked up his player option with the Knicks for the 2018-19 season worth $18.62 million, and will look to help New York bounce back from an ugly campaign in which the team finished with just a 29-53 record.
