The odds of Paul George staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder appear to get better and better, as the opening of the free agency window looms closer. This time around, the whispers are reportedly coming out of the LeBron James camp, as they seem to have accepted the fact that George does not want to leave Oklahoma.

George and James are arguably the two biggest names in this off-season's free agency class, and many believe that teaming up with each other would be beneficial for both players. However, as discussed by Sam Amick in his piece for USA Today, the likelihood of this becoming a reality has become somewhat bleak.

The scenario with the highest possibility of coming to fruition is if both George and James decide to opt out of the final year of their contracts with their respective teams. The Los Angeles Lakers have been identified as their most likely landing ground, with the team not only having enough cap space to sign both players to max deals, but also possessing the Hollywood appeal for James, and a homecoming opportunity for George.

However, with LeBron's camp reportedly feeling pessimistic about any deal going through that would unite these two superstars, it appears that George will be remaining in Oklahoma for at least another year.

George himself has implied his desire to stay in the city, claiming that his on- and off-court chemistry with Russell Westbrook has become a major factor in his decision. This dynamic duo, along with Carmelo Anthony who just recently announced his decision to remain with the Thunder next year, should only get better entering their second season as the OKC Big 3.
