The Orlando Magic may have added key pieces to their roster last summer with the hopes of turning their fortunes around starting this season. However, things have not gone according to plan and they are on course to miss the playoffs once again.
They may be stuck in mediocrity and without a roster that can compete for a title anytime soon, but the team's CEO, Alex Martins, is very optimistic about the chances of the Magic finally becoming champions in the coming years.
“I certainly believe by 2030 we will have won at least one championship.”
“And I say ‘at least.' I firmly believe we're going to get there and once you get there, you got the kind of team that hopefully can come back. I believe we will have won a championship.”
A lot of things could happen in 14 years, but the immediate future isn't looking to be championship contending time for Orlando.
Article Continues BelowThe Magic have talented players in Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier, and Serge Ibaka. They have also been rumored to make a move soon by adding a proven scorer to their fold.
Should they be successful in making a trade and getting the veteran scorer they're hoping to get in return, it might be the start of changes to the franchise which should definitely help their CEO's bold claim.
