Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz says Detroit Pistons star Derrick Rose is a “Hall of Famer in my eyes.”

Both Fultz and Rose were the No. 1 overall picks in their respective draft classes. Rose is a three-time All-Star and the youngest MVP in NBA history, while Fultz is trying to get his career going with the Magic after dealing with injuries with the Philadelphia 76ers.

“He’s a Hall of Famer in my eyes,” Fultz said about Rose, via Magic.com. “I got a chance to meet him this summer (while working out) and he’s one of the greats in this league. Even after his injuries, he’s still a great player, so I know he’s going to be fast and getting to the spots that he wants to go to. I’ve got a lot of respect for him and I’ve got to prepare for him.”

The Pistons defeated the Magic on Monday to improve to 6-11 on the season. Rose had a terrible game, putting up just two points on 1-of-11 shooting from the field. He did dish out six assists.

Fultz finished with 16 points against the Pistons. He shot 7-of-12 from the floor. The entire NBA community is happy for Fultz since the start to his NBA career with the Sixers was bizarre.
