We can always expect NBA fans to make a spectacle whenever Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons hits a three-pointer. The 24-year-old point forward actually drained one in the Sixers' 116-92 win over the previously unbeaten Orlando Magic at Amway Center on Thursday. Sure enough, the jokes came flowing afterward.

It seems the hilarity also ensued among the press after the game, as Simmons exchanged this friendly banter with one Sixers reporter who quickly asked his thoughts about that extremely rare long-distance bomb he just hit.

In case you missed it, here's that right corner triple Ben Simmons hit that got fans (and even his Sixers teammates on the bench) buzzing.

While shooting three-pointers seems rudimentary for most NBA players these days, the 6-foot-10 Australian's struggles on that end for the Sixers have been widely documented throughout his career. By now, we're already used to clips of Simmons burying long-range bombs in Sixers practice during the offseason. Yet, we never really see him utilize that supposed new-found skill once the regular season kicks in.

Defenses will still continue to give him wide-open looks from that distance until he can knock it down on a consistent basis for the Sixers.

But to be fair, Simmons did display a beautiful set shot and follow-through, as his lone attempt from deep on Thursday hit nothing but nylon. The two-time Sixers All-Star did finish with a near triple-double of nine points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in 25 minutes and helped the Sixers improve to 4-1 in the season.

The Sixers have been affected a lot less than other teams by the weird dynamics attached to this NBA pandemic season. Philadelphia and Simmons don't need to be spectacular right now to attain meaningful results… but Simmons will need his jump shot to be reasonably reliable when the playoffs roll around.
