The Philadelphia 76ers made a surprising move during NBA free agency by inking veteran big man Andre Drummond to a one-year deal. Earlier this week, Drummond made headlines, and not for basketball. The former Los Angeles Lakers center posted a video on social media in which he jumped in a pool and saved his son from drowning.

Drummond reacted instantly when he saw his son go into the water. He didn't hesitate to pull him out safely. Still, it is always a scary situation when something like this happens.
Article Continues BelowThe newest Sixers big man spent the beginning of his career with the Detroit Pistons before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is now headed to the Sixers, yet another stop in his NBA journey. He spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He and Dwight Howard essentially switched places this offseason, with Howard returning to L.A. from Philadelphia.
The Sixers' signing of Drummond was an interesting one, especially because they have Joel Embiid and the duo has had a contentious history with Drummond.
Regardless, that's not important right now. What is important is that Drummond's son is safe and nobody was harmed in this incident, which could have been much worse. As Drummond said, not all heroes wear capes.
