Despite an anticlimactic Philadelphia 76ers debut in a loss to the Orlando Magic, new Sixers acquisition Jimmy Butler is still confident he will pick up the playbook and mesh with his new teammates sooner rather than later, having already shown signs of his unselfishness and leadership in only 33 minutes of action.

“We all want each other to be great,” said Butler, according to Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I'm telling you, its coming sooner rather than later, we are going to be just fine cause once we put this thing together, it’s going to be TOUGH.”

Butler will make his home debut on Friday, giving fans a first glimpse of their newly acquired star and one they will depend on to propel this team to greater heights.

“I know it's going to be a little bit crazy,” said Butler. “I'm excited to get out there and play on, now, my home floor, in front of those home fans.”

The four-time All-Star scored only 14 points in his debut, trying to find his place on the floor while actively looking to let his teammates have their moment, which allowed Joel Embiid to notch his first triple-double of his career with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Butler is averaging 20.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game — averages that are expected to remain despite joining Embiid and Ben Simmons on this Sixers roster. The 29-year-old has displayed great work ethic throughout his career, and it likely won't take long before he picks up Brett Brown's ball-movement offense and integrate himself to the fold.
