For players, getting traded is definitely one of the most difficult things they will experience in their career. The same holds true for the teammates they leave behind.
This is certainly the case for Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid who recently admitted that he got emotional upon hearing the news about the blockbuster trade that went down between the Sixers and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
Speaking to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Embiid openly shared the genuine regret he felt when he learned that his team were shipping off both Dario Saric and Robert Covington to the Wolves.
Embiid isn't lying here; the Sixers had definitely formed a very formidable group. Nonetheless, something was still missing. As it turns out, that missing piece of the puzzle is a third All-Star that comes in the form of Jimmy Butler.
Embiid certainly has a point, but it's not as if the team are losing two of their best guys for nothing. In exchange, they're getting one of the best two-way players in the game today, and it looks like this is what's going to take the Sixers to the next level.
