Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid showcased his excellent skills by posting a tremendous stat line in the first half of Friday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Embiid, who has been somewhat unhappy with his play as of late, wasn't playing around in the first 24 minutes of this particular game as he went for 28 points and 14 rebounds.

That helped Philly grab a 10-point lead heading into halftime, though, they ended up losing the contest to the tune of a 113-101 home loss.

But the biggest story was Embiid's overall performance, with the 7-footer going for 40 points and 21 rebounds in 34 minutes of action. It marked his third 40-point game of the season after he notched 42 points and 18 rebounds in a 133-132 win over the Charlotte Hornets back in early November.

Even with a stretch of games where he wasn't playing that well, it was never in doubt that Embiid would get things going.

He had 33 points and 17 boards in the loss to the Brooklyn Nets earlier in the week, and clearly, he was able to use the confidence from that game in the matchup with the Pacers.

Embiid likely would have preferred that his monster performance come in a win, but it's still a pretty spectacular stat line overall.

Philly will hit the road on Sunday for a showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the trip will continue with a game against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Given how well Embiid has played the past few games, those two opponents had better focus a lot of their attention on stopping him.
