Though he has already established himself as one of the more dominant big men in the NBA, Sixers center Joel Embiid is still without a signature shoe contract. However, following Sunday's practice session, the Cameroon native hinted that a deal could be on the way soon.
One of the last questions sent in Embiid's direction on Sunday was about signature shoes.
“Signature shoes?” Embiid asked with intrigue. “We might be able to make it happen at some point, and I'm excited about it. I'm excited.
“A lot of people, you know, always have that notion [that] big men can't sell shoes,” Embiid added. “And when I look at myself … I can dribble, I can pass the ball, I can shoot. I can bring it up, I can be a playmaker. I'm more than a big man. So as far as signature shoes, I'm excited to come and break that.”
Just for the record, Embiid has been wearing Under Armour gear throughout the preseason. In previous seasons, he chose to wear Adidas.

Some say Embiid is a troll online, but he says that's just how his personality operates.
“Oh, yeah, it definitely helps the brand,” Embiid said of his social media activity. “People understand that that's my personality. That's me. That's who I am. It definitely helps a lot.”
Embiid and the Sixers played their final exhibition game of this preseason in China on Monday morning — a 115-112 loss to the Dallas Mavericks at Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre. In 28 minutes of playing time, the former No. 3 overall pick racked up 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
