Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is dealing with soreness in his left knee. The All-Star center didn't play on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers due to the knee ailment and Embiid is questionable for Tuesday's game versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Joel Embiid participated in the morning shootaround, but Sixers head coach Brett Brown says he is still questionable to play.

Philly is likely just waiting to see if Embiid's knee is sore after shootaround.

In 35 games this season, Joel Embiid is averaging 26.5 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 28.5 percent from beyond the arc and 80.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Sixers are 22-13 when Embiid is in the lineup. The 7-footer has 31 double-doubles on the year and one triple-double as well.

Philly is wise to play it safe with Embiid considering his injury history. He missed the first two seasons of his NBA career. Embiid also had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in 2017 to address a meniscus issue.

The Sixers enter Tuesday with a record of 23-14, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The team is coming off a blowout loss to the Trail Blazers. Philly lost to Portland by a final score of 129-95.
