Joel Embiid is slated to make his preseason debut in a few minutes against the Brooklyn Nets, but even with this being the last warmup prior to the start of the regular season, the big man will only see 12-to-14 minutes on the court, according to Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly.

“The Process” will play in three-minute segments, closely monitored by the Sixers' coaching staff throughout the game.

The 7-footer just signed a five-year, $146.5 million extension with a hefty amount of trigger bonuses regarding his health moving forward.

Philadelphia will start Ben Simmons, J.J. Redick, Jerryd Bayless, and Robert Covington along with Embiid, as rookie Markelle Fultz sits this one out with right knee and right shoulder soreness.

Embiid is weighing around 285 pounds and slowly acclimating himself to the speed of the game, as he was only recently cleared to rejoin the team on five-on-five scrimmages.

This start should give the cornerstone center a little warmup for the regular season that approaches, but expect the Sixers to be as careful as ever with their newly-rewarded centerpiece.

Embiid's new contract includes a clause in which the team can waive him if he misses 25 games due to foot or back issues — making his health a key priority for all involved.
