Philadelphia 76ers enigma Markelle Fultz was recently diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, offering an explanation for Fultz's bizarre shooting woes. Brian Sutterer M.D. posted a video to YouTube to try and explain the injury and shed some light on what Fultz may be going through.
Of course, it is worth noting that Sutterer has not personally examined Markelle Fultz so this video should be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, his explanation helps bring some clarity to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome for fans who may have never heard of the injury before.

Famous baseball players like Matt Harvey, Chris Young, and Chris Carpenter have dealt with Thoracic Outlet Syndrom at various points in their careers.
Numerous NHL players have also been diagnosed with the syndrome, but Fultz is one of, if not the first NBA player to be diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. It's a very rare diagnosis, but it could be the key to building Fultz back up.
This would explain the physical issues that Fultz is dealing with, but there have to be some mental issues holding back Markelle Fultz as well. Fultz's team would love to make the argument that this was a physical issue the entire time. But until Fultz is shooting the three-ball with confidence, there will be lingering questions about his mental state.
