Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Markelle Fultz will be sidelined for the next three games due to shoulder soreness, according to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice.

Fultz will be on the bench for two games against the Houston Rockets and one against the Dallas Mavericks. The team will re-evaluate his status next Tuesday, assessing if he should continue to sit or is good to go.

Much has been made about Fultz's odd-looking free-throw form, which has gone viral since the preseason, when he first started experiencing pain in his right shoulder. The Washington standout has shot 6-of-12 from the line and 33 percent from the field, coming off the bench during his first four games with the Sixers.

Team president Bryan Colangelo said “there was never a concerted effort on the part of the organization to change his shot,” according to Neubeck.

There has been much controversy about his agent, Raymond Brothers, who said in a statement to ESPN that there had been fluid drained out of his shoulder, only to retract himself and say he had a cortisone shot on his shooting shoulder and could not raise his arms to shoot, due to the discomfort.

Fultz has been battling through the pain to help the Sixers, but his presence has been at less than 50 percent, becoming an obstruction of playing time for healthy players rather than a heroic will to play through pain.

The 76ers will be cautious with this injury and hope to get him back once the pain subsides.
