The Philadelphia 76ers have some tough decisions in the months ahead, as trading second-year guard Markelle Fultz should figure high on their priority list now that they have added a proven third stud to the starting lineup.

While Fultz is still plenty young at 20 years old and could benefit from a less stressful situation elsewhere to shake out the yips, some executives would find it tough for Philly to get a first-rounder back in any trade scenario.

“I’d be surprised if they get any type of first-round pick,” a team executive told Yaron Weitzman of Bleacher Report. “It’s just hard for any team who is trying to have space this summer to take a flyer on a guy like that who will eat into their space like he will.”

Teams know Fultz still boasts an arsenal that made him worthy of being the No. 1 overall pick, but that vision has been largely clouded by the setbacks on his shot — which limits most of his offensive game.

“He's shown that when he's willing to, he can get that 15-foot jumper any time, and some of his moves in the paint or on the break are the kinds of things most guys just can't do,” an Eastern Conference scout described Fultz's game earlier this season.

Most believe that “there could be a limited market for [Fultz],” as only prospective teams with no immediate mandate to win right away would take on such a project.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been among the few teams showing a clear interest for Markelle Fultz, but it will all come down to what the Sixers' real asking price is once the trade deadline approaches.
