Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant isn't the biggest fan of how the MVP award race is being judged.

The Grizzlies star has been vocal about lobbying for Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker to at least be in the conversation for the regular season award. Given that the Suns have the best record in the NBA by a mile and Devin Booker has been the best player of said team, it's puzzling to both Morant and Devin Booker himself that he's not even in the discussion at the moment.

Ja Morant didn't stay quiet about it on Twitter. The Grizzlies star voiced out his frustrations on the seemingly moving goalposts of what it means to be the MVP in the NBA.

“it was once you couldn't be a certain seed and win MVP but looks like that has changed. wasn't gon speak on this but it's obvious it's whoever they want,” said the Grizzlies point guard.

It's hard not to think that Ja Morant isn't at lobbying for himself at least a tiny bit. The Grizzlies are right behind the Suns with the second-best record in the NBA and yet both Booker and Morant aren't seen as favorites for the award.

The MVP award in the NBA has always been highly scrutinized for having such a subjective voting process. When the true criteria is so vague, it's hard to quantify who truly deserves the award at the end of the day.
